​In Season Two of Remote, filmmaker Badir McCleary broadens his geographic scope, exploring new areas that challenge and expand our understanding of public art. In the second episode, “Monuments of Dedication,” Badir visits several significant sites: the Rothko Chapel and Barnett Newman’s “Broken Obelisk” in Houston; John Yancey’s “Rhapsody” and Ryan Rucie’s “Trust Your Struggles” in Austin; Sally Heller’s “Scrap House” and the “Nanih Bvlbancha” installation by Louisiana Indigenous artists in New Orleans; Alison Saar’s “Swing Low (Harriet Tubman Memorial)” in Harlem; a mural of Mike Tyson by Vincent Ballentine in Brooklyn; the Freedom Monument Sculpture Park in Montgomery, Alabama; and Bob Ross’ gravesite in Gotha, Florida.
